In this role, you have the opportunity to

Gain insights in consumer decision journeys and discover how shopper marketing works on converting the shopper by focusing on key purchase barriers as well as key purchase drivers. You will partner with a Trade shopper marketer to drive traffic, awareness and conversion at our key retailers like Bol.com, Coolblue, MediaMarkt, Blokker etc.

You are responsible for

  • Analyzing previous actions, current sales and market situation, exploring opportunities and getting the basics right for online- and offline success to help us to grow the business.

  • Creating innovative activation plans for our products and customers

  • Creating content optimalization advice for key retailers

  • Maintaining the activation calendar per key customer

  • Analyzing and improving our shopper claims in retail

  • Tracking activations on its presence and effectiveness (qualitative and quantitative)

  • Preparing upcoming activations and online banner campaigns

  • Analyzing tailor made activations

  • Support with external presentations regarding optimizing product pages at the retailers website

You are a part of

The Trade Shopper Marketing team that is part of the Personal Health Benelux organization. You will report to a Trade Shopper Marketing manager and team up with other interns with marketing or sales assignments.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Currently studying towards your University Degree: HBO, Bachelor or Master in Marketing or related areas

  • Analytical skills,

  • An experienced user of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Good communication skill; efficient and hands-on attitudes; able to handle deadlines

  • Some experience in Trade Marketing or Sales is preferred

  • Able to work independent and in a team

  • Native Dutch speaker; fluent in English (non negotiable)

Job Description

Start date: as soon as possible 

Duration: 6 months. If possible, we will extend to 9 or 12 months

As a Marketing Intern in Philips, you will have the opportunity to discover Marketing by fulfilling a meaningful assignment in one of Business Clusters or Markets. You will focus on ‘learning on the job’ as well as learning from Marketing professionals – we are looking forward to welcome you in the Philips family!

We do have several assignments available and within the following tracks: Trade Shopper, Digital Marketing, eCommerce, Analytics & Insights, Consumer Marketing, Product Marketing, Marketing Communication.

You are a part of

We provide internship opportunities in different departments in various locations in the Netherlands (Amsterdam, Best, Drachten or Eindhoven).

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer-first attitude and the following

  • Currently studying towards your Bachelor or Master in:  Marketing, Business Economics, Business Administration or Business Management;

  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills;

  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit – eager, ambitious, well developed organizational skills;

  • Commercial mindset;

  • Business fluency in English – for some positions Dutch might be required.

In return, we offer you

A unique and challenging internship assignment! Next to that, we are offering a decent internship package:

  • Monthly full-time allowance between €500 – €900 gross, depending on educational level and if you would need to relocate to The Netherlands. If you will perform a part-time internship you will receive the allowance pro-rata.

  • Housing compensation, in case of relocating to the vicinity of the office, €300,- net if location is in the vicinity of Amsterdam, €255,- net for all other Philips locations. You need to provide a rental contract of the land lord, and your normal home-work travel distance need to be more than 50 km or travel time (one way trip) need to be more than 1.5 hours.

  • Travel compensation, if you are not eligible for a free public transport card; you will receive max. €145,- net

  • Paid holidays per internship term.

  • The opportunity to buy Philips products at our Philips shop.

Formal documentation will be requested . Students from outside the EU enrolled in a Dutch university need to fill in a NUFFIC agreement – needing to be signed by the student and the university.

Start date: We prefer students able to start as soon as possible, no later than Q1 2022.

Duration: 6 months

We are not able to support this internship in a combination with a thesis research, but we are very flexible to discuss your availability between 20-40 hours per week supporting us with the projects.

  • Supporting the Team on activities within our digital app solutions for pregnant women pregnancy+ for Europe
  • Support to develop 360° activation calendar for Mother & Child Care Europe
  • Support the team on activities around the marketing strategy and marketing mix

You are a part of

The European Mother & Childcare Team leading the business strategy for Europe. Team members are based in several EU countries. Working from home will be a good option for this position, but now and then visiting the office in Amsterdam to grand you an idea of an international environment in office space is okay with us as well.

Depending the COVID19 situation, you will be supported to work from home. Given an improvement in this situation, the department manager will inform you when you can return working from our office located in Amsterdam/Eindhoven.

To succeed in this role, you‘ll need a consumer-first attitude and the following

  • Studying towards your University of Sciences Bachelor or Master’s degree in: (International) Business or Marketing
  • Can do mentality, eager to learn, structured, team player, good communication skills
  • Good analytical skills and ability to think conceptually
  • Interest in Marketing/ Consumer goods. Previous Marketing Internship experiences preferred.
  • Ability to take initiative & work independently
  • Fluent in English

  • Upload marketing content in Content / Catalog Management tool 

  • Upload pricing information in e-commerce tools and ERP systems 

  • Manage overall performance of the execution of the creation process to pre-determined milestones to ensure an on-time launch of products/fast availability of changed products online 

  • Create a standard for the product/part content per business

  • Improve Service NPS for parts
